Led by lanterns – Save a Life

The song is incredibly moving and features Rachel Webb who is a huge supporter of the work we are doing. She sadly lost her son to a horrific knife attack in Derby city centre last year. The band have worked with her to create their music video. When the band started researching the UK’s knife crime statistics, they were shocked at how much of a problem it really is. Every 4 minutes there is a knife attack in the UK. That means every 4 minutes someones life is changed, their families lives change.

The band met with Alfie Bradley and visited the workshop here in Oswestry to see the creation of the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression and they couldn’t believe the amount of weapons that had been handed in.

We thank the band for their tremendous support and it adds a new dimension to the National campaign, a new direction to spread the awareness of the affects on victims and their families, as the effects hit them the most.

Dea and the family visited on Joshua’s birthday last week as she wanted to show the children the knife angel. It’s message of peace and hope she hoped could comfort the children on such an emotional day.
It was really powerful to have the family here, knowing their story it was an emotional visit.
The family also visited Rebecca Sarah one of our Artists in residence and created ‘memory boxes’ to remember Joshua by.
We wanted to thank the family for visiting and hope that it brought some comfort and happiness being here.

They came to see the Monument after hearing so much about our campaign and what we are aiming to achieve.

Tracey, sadly lost her son, Josh, In a unprovoked and motiveless attack in October last year and 8 months on, Josh’s killer is still at large.

Michelle is the founder of the charity Raising Aspirations and is working closely with us to gain the support from police forces across the nation. With michelle’s help, we hope to reach the final few forces who have yet to come on board.

We can’t thank Michelle enough and hope to see her and her family Darren, Callum, Tia and Iraius Mchale and Emma and Zavalias’nae Duncan here again soon.

Alison lost her son to a fatal knife attack and has been a fierce campaigner against knife crime ever since and a huge supporter of our campaign.

The headstone in the photo was created at the British Ironworks by his good friend Emanuel who came to the Ironworks for a welding experience. The headstone reads ‘Rest Easy Depz’
a touching tribute to his friend.

Our aim to remove 100,000 knives off the streets of the UK is forever moving closer and with only a small number of police forces still to join the campaign is nearly completely national.
