Today is the day!
We wanted to remind all of our visitors here today that there is a strict Embargo on today’s events.
No photography or filming to take place during the Knife Angel’s move. The one show have already arrived to start filming.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but this is a huge day for the campaign, to receive National coverage on such a momentous day.
This embrago will also be in place the week following the filming until the show is aired. We will keep you all updated for when to expect to see it on the BBC.

There was wonderful coverage in the Oswestry Advertizer today!

Delighted to have so much coverage and support from our local newspaper.
The Knife Angel or The National Monument against Violence and Aggression – Knife Angel will be lifted 60 ft in the air on Monday.

This will hopefully mark its first steps towards Trafalgar square and the forth plinth in London.

The One Show, are filming its rise from the studio by drone and ground cameras.
There is a complete media embargo on any other news agencies or groups from any filming or photography on that day.
Security checks will be in action, on the entrance and around the site all day.
We are proud to have created the UK’s vision and symbolise our intolerance to violent and aggressive behaviour.

BBC One Show Film the Knife Angel

On the 5th June, we are having to request a total ban on anyone filming and even photography on site.

We have formally committed to The One Show how filming the Knife angel and we are to implement a complete blanket ban on all pictures and movies on site.

Security will be present all day, bag searches and checks will be made where deemed necessary.

Knife Crime and the effort to see the Angel fulfil its destiny has to be prioritised, apologises to all for the inconvenience.

The support for the Knife Angel continues to rise

Our county newspaper has always been at the forefront of supporting the creation of the National Monument against Violence and Aggression – The Knife Angel, from it’s conception over 2 years ago, to the present day

We are very grateful for the Shropshire Star‘s unflinching support and now hope that we can see the Knife Angel reach and fulfil it’s destiny.

From the 5th June, there will be a blanket ban on filming and photographing the monument until it’s official broadcast, where the monument will be aired on The One Show.

All media and filming will be completely prohibited, with no one being allowed to film or photograph the Angel for the following 7 days after filming has ended

There is a total Knife Angel embargo on media groups, until the BBC One Show release the story.

This will of course disappoint some, but it is critical that knife crime is showed in the footage and with the One Show being on a national stage, it will certainly help the campaign.

Therefore we have to oblige and secure the Knife Angel workshop and screen viewings to ensure nothing goes live prior to the show going out.

Dudley and Solihull Knife Banks

Knife banks for Dudley and Solihull are finished and ready.

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson visited the Ironworks last week, to solidify ongoing support in tackling the rise in crime.

With all violent and aggressive incidents continuing to increase, the British Ironworks has vowed to upgrade its support being placed behind West Midlands Police.

Knife Crime has Increased,
Gun Crime has Increased,
Hate Crime has increased,

Going forward, the supply and loan of knife banks/bins is being reinvigorated for the West Midlands.

Clive Knowles said
“We’ve decided to further increase our efforts and support for West Midlands Police, they are a particularly proactive force, They have the support of a crime commissioner that is dedicated in turning this tide and decreasing aggressive and violent attacks.
We believe it’s not just our duty to help, but for all businesses to step forward and help.”

Crime affects all businesses and commerce, we think that we all have verifying resources and more of a need to step forward and help.
Currently we are working on the creation of new pioneering Gun safe banks, these will also be offered free of cost and obligation to West Midlands Police.

Yorkshire and Manchester Collections

Last week saw momentous collections from 3 Police forces including South Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Police and Greater Manchester Police.

It’s fantastic to have these the forces proactively collecting knives and weapons off the streets of the UK and making their regions more aware on the affects of knife crime and violence.

This now concludes that one of our campaign objectives is nearly complete, to have the support of all 43 Police forces across the UK! We still have a number of collections to take place but we can reveal that we have received positive support from every Police force! The Campaign can now truly be called a NATIONAL CAMPAIGN!

We can now focus all of our efforts on contacting the London Mayors office in the sculpture reaching it’s destiny, to be placed on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar square.
Petition signatures are increasing but to reach a debate in parliament we have a way to go.

All visitors to the Centre, from today will have the ability to offer their support in writing.
Directly outside the Knife Angel studio, we have now positioned a table specifically prepared with letterheads and pens.

Your letters and comments will be collected in a mailbox and there after posted to the Mayor’s Office, addressed directly to Sadiq Khan.

With now every police force in the UK having completed an amnesty or surrender, all contributing their weapons for the monument to be made, it’s now time to press the Mayor’s office to allow the National Monument against Violence and Aggression to fulfil its destiny.

Knife crime in the UK, is nationally radically up by up to 10% across the country and up by 24% across the Midlands alone.
London has the most significant problem, eclipsing the whole of the other UK’s figures.

National Knife Crime figures

National Knife Crime Figures!

There were over 16,000 Injuries and deaths caused by knives in 2016.
This figure does not include persons stopped with a knife or persons caught having threatened someone with a blade.

This figure is missing three forces, we are still trying to obtain their statistics.

Everyone note London’s figures, yet the Mayor’s office still remains silent despite the fact that they possess the ability to host the Knife Angel- The National Monument against Violence and Aggression – Knife Angel

By allowing the monument to occupy the 4th plinth, it would give a voice to the victims of knife crime.
It would kick-start the government and our educational system into doing more to turn the tide, on this national blight.

City of London Police collection

Last week we carried out a collection from City of London Police collecting knives the force had gathered off the streets of London. We thank City of London for their support in spreading awareness on the affects of Knife crime and Violence and their contribution to our soon to be truly national cause gives us an even louder voice!

Surrey Police Knife Collection

We travelled south last week to collect knives and weapons surrendered from Surrey Police.

A number of knives and weapons were collected in support of our campaign and we thank Surrey police for their contributions to this national project.
The force have been a huge help to us in getting in touch with the final few forces yet to be a part of the campaign.

The support has been phenomenal. We have also had extensive support from members of West Mercia Police and it’s Deputy PCC Tracy Onslow. with their support we are getting ever closer to signing up the final few forces.
