All visitors to the Centre, from today will have the ability to offer their support in writing.
Directly outside the Knife Angel studio, we have now positioned a table specifically prepared with letterheads and pens.

Your letters and comments will be collected in a mailbox and there after posted to the Mayor’s Office, addressed directly to Sadiq Khan.

With now every police force in the UK having completed an amnesty or surrender, all contributing their weapons for the monument to be made, it’s now time to press the Mayor’s office to allow the National Monument against Violence and Aggression to fulfil its destiny.

Knife crime in the UK, is nationally radically up by up to 10% across the country and up by 24% across the Midlands alone.
London has the most significant problem, eclipsing the whole of the other UK’s figures.

British Independent Retailers Association back new campaign

The British Independent retailers Association, is now in support of our efforts to highlight the need for greater efforts in preventing knives being used on the UK streets.
Retailers are being informed of best practices and checklist info , for serving youths with knife sales.
All facets of our society can play a more significant role in helping reduce violence on our streets

Another Force has joined the Knife Angel campaign!

South Wales Police yesterday became the latest police force to join our National campaign, to remove a quarter of a million knives and weapons off the streets of the UK in the creation of The National Monument against Violence and Aggression -…. We travelled to the forces Bridgend property stores to collect a number of knives and weapons confiscated by the South Wales Police across the region. Included were a number of pocket knives, household knives and one or two homemade weapons which are now safely off the streets and included in raising awareness on the damaging affects of knife crime and violence. We thank South Wales Police in responding to the nations plight and supporting our campaign. We hope they continue to focus on reducing the number of knife related crime in South Wales. Staffordshire Police collect hundreds of knives in amnesty

We received a huge collection of knives and weapons from Staffordshire Police recently as their knife amnesty draw to a close.

They had nearly 20 knife amnesty bins stationed across the region and police headquarters in the counties biggest knife amnesty to date.

The force worked tirelessly throughout the month long amnesty to encourage members of the public to hand over weapons and rid the streets of Staffordshire of knife crime and violence.

Hundreds of weapons were brought back here to campaign headquarters to be included in the sculpture. We really want to thank the force for their support and helping us reach our target of 100,000 knives off the streets of the UK.

We’re hanging up our tools for the week and we will be back on the 2nd January.

Many thanks to all of our loyal fans who have been amazing this year! We look forward to 2015, and welcome it with open arms.

January will see the beginning of our Knife angel construction, and further campaigning to get the word out.

We hope for more fundraising and awareness opportunities and hope to see more bins placed across the UK.

Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you and a very Happy New Year, and please everyone keep a place in your thought on Christmas day to those who have lost their lives to knife crime, and remember the families that they have left behind. Our thought are with you all this holiday season.

West Mercia Police Deliver 5k Knives

Today West Mercia Police in conjunction with Biffa Skips and environmental waste management, have delivered a large shipment of knives that have been relinquished for our cause.

The delivery took place today in our centre in Oswestry Shropshire, the knives where placed into a controlled environment where our specially trained workers will de-contaminate and dull down the blades in preparation for the sculpture.

It is a long and complicated job, but one with a just reward at the end of it. We were never expecting such a massive response so soon into the campaign and it means that we can get started on the Knife angel all that much quicker.

Work on the Angel is to begin in January with preparation beginning as soon as the Christmas break is over. We now feel very confident that this can and will go ahead as we had hoped. everything is falling into place. We have several amnesty bins now planted around the UK, and have received a call from one area stating that the bin is full and ready to be delivered!

Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks, Alfie and his boys have their work cut out for them but its going to be a spectacular sight on completion.

Remember Amy Hughes? You know the one? Yeah that girl who ran 53 marathons one after the other?? Of Course you do! She’s a self-made legend and we are insanely proud to have her support.

Cheers Amy! We can’t wait for our Angel to be completed.

Only Cowards Carry

An Extra Set of Hands

October 15^th – Ron Dowling – helping with knife angel.

The centre welcomes Ron Dowling, local metalworker.

He has offered his services voluntarily to assist Alfie Bradley in the initial construction of our knife angel – after all, a 20 ft statue is definitely NOT a one-man job.

Alfie will have help throughout various stages of creating this memorial masterpiece, it is our soul priority that Alfie is safe during the construction of the Angel, even if we need a whole construction crew to finish it – that’s what we’ll do!
